Jzeriz turned 7.
She requested for a Princess Themed Cake.
But due to time constraint to prepare for this creation,
I opted to make 4 large cupcakes and four dozen regular ones.

I made the princess topper and two anime figures and sunflower
cupcake toppers.

Hope you like my creation this week.
I got a very big HUG and a kiss from the sweet celebrant.

I  got several inquiries on wedding cakes so
I am reposting the wedding cakes and bridal shower cakes that I have made over a year ago.
I have learned quite a bit of new techniques on cake decorating since then.
I wish to make a better and more impressive wedding cake designs in the future.
Honestly, weddings cakes are so stressful and expensive to make
than birthday/event cakes.

When you buy a birthday cake, for example, you are quoted a flat rate based on the size of the cake.
But with wedding cakes, the price is quoted per serving.
Wedding cakes can costs from $400 and up depending on the number of servings,
 complexity of the design, type of cake, filling and type of icing.
Having flowers whether edible or real add to the cost.
Edible flowers takes long hours to make and real flowers are expensive as well. 
Keeping it simple is the key to saving money.

So here are the wedding cakes I made so far.

DEXIE AND JOEL WEDDING CAKE
This is a wedding cake I made for a bride
who asked me to be one of the sponsors on her wedding.
I made this cake as a gift for the couple.

What is it to be a Wedding Sponsor?
A traditional Filipino wedding has sponsors because back in the days,
when Filipinos get married, the sponsors are there to help them financially. 
Usually, sponsors are aunties/uncles of the bride & groom.
These sponsors are considered silent sponsors who are there for the couple in time of need
but are silent during the wedding ceremony.
The sponsors are called ninongs and ninangs (godparents).
This wedding tradition is still practiced especially in the Philippines.
Not so much for the Sponsors to help finance the wedding, however, 
each Sponsors are expected to give a more extravagant gift to the bride and groom.
The sponsors' names are usually included in the program and they also walk down the aisle of the church. 
It usually goes in this order: priest, altar boys, parents of the bride, parents of the groom, sponsors, wedding party, ring bearer, flower girl and then bride.

TRACY AND CHRIS WEDDING CAKE

Honestly, I was not very happy at the outcome of this cake.
The inspiration for this cake was very nice with sharp edges.
 Wish I knew the use of ganache back then which can be used to iced a cake to achieve sharp edges.

JUDITH'S BRIDAL SHOWER CAKE

I just bought my pillow pan when I got this order.
So I got the chance to use it.

This is the very first wedding cake I made. 
 Obviously, I don't know much about presentation.
But it is very nice cake and not too bad for first time modelling roses made of gumpaste.
