The design on the bird cage, which is the cake
I used a Wilton Mold and Dove cutter.
I really enjoyed making this cake.
No stress at all!
Made the birds and flowers a week before using gumpaste.
This is a 6 in. four layer cake. I used the smallest pyrex dish to make the dome.
It was great to use Sharon Zambito's way of making a dam.
Creating a dam or circle of icing just inside the edge of the cake will prevent any filling from seeping out when the next layer is added. Squeeze a circle about 3/4 in. high and 1/4 in. from the outside edge of the cake.
Used Satin Ice Chocolate fondant and vanila fondant.
