So two weeks ago I got a request from my daughter's friend to make a Hunger Games themed cake for her birthday. I was very impressed at the detailed information she gave me. I should hire her when I open shop in the future. Look at the DRAFT she provided me, so detailed. That suggestion on what to use to mimic sand -- "You should use brown sugar" and "sprinkle sugar to look like snow" -- brilliant! -- and the part to use google to search for images. Smart kid!
Although, I kind of suggested (more like convinced her) to make it a little simple. And she agreed, especially when I asked her -- how many guest is she planning of inviting and she said six (6) kids. Three tiers will be a lot of cake for 6 kids to eat...Too funny!
However later on I decided to stick to the design but modified some of the details.
I want to share this conversation with the celebrant, as it's too cute not to share-- I asked her -- how much are you paying me for your cake? She said "$40 is all I have, will that be enough? Too cute.
So, since I was very impressed by her creativity, artistic talent and she made me laugh --- this will be my birthday gift to her.
My inspiration is from Viktor and Rolf's Spring/Summer 2015 Collection-Van Gogh Girls. The collection characterized lively energy, playful, excitement and rustic. I love the white and black outline with a pop of red. The design is simple yet elegant.
“Being creative does not mean you have to ‘be an artist.’ Being creative is about expressing yourself, and the more we express ourselves, the more good we create in the world.” - Mason Miller

Finally after a very long wait...I present -- Wedding Cake in Modern Lace Theme - Cake Central Magazine Vol 6 Issue 2. It is truly an honour to be included in this issue. A dream come true.
I made this piece in Feb 2015 and is now published in the latest issue of Cake Central Magazine (Cake Central Magazine, Volume 6 Issue 2).
I submitted several photos taken in different background. I also made somewhat two versions, one in white color and the other in warm beige. I used royal icing and stencils to create the lace effect.
I hope you like my creation.

Here's a draft I made of another version of the Lovebirds Design cake. I just love the color palette on this cake draft. I hope to create this version soon. Would love to hear what you think of this design.

Here's the three versions side by side.
I was given the opportunity to create a tutorial on how to make the “Lovebirds” cake design in Valentines theme (sunset color palette).
A wonderful surprise to find out that it made the front cover on Cake Masters February 2015 Issue. A wonderful birthday gift indeed! It’s a huge honour and privilege to be part of the CM Magazine.
What a fantastic start to 2015. Thank you again Cake Masters! It’s always an amazing experience to work with you!
Several months ago I was asked by the lovely Candace fromBeau Petit Cupcakes to design and make a cake for the winter issue of DIY Weddings Magazine
I love silhouette painting of two birds on a tree facing the bright full moon. Love the effect and it’s very romantic.
I was given a color palette of blue, black, brown and white. Perfect for my inspiration and blue is my most favorite color. Since my inspiration came from an acrylic painting, I decided to paint the background, the moon and the sky. I adore Ruffles and wafer paper – used these for my details.
I named my cake design “Lovebirds in the Moonlight”. Hope you like it!
Once again, I would like to thank Candace for asking me and giving me this opportunity! Bless you my friend!
Your first breath. Your first smile. Your first steps. Your first words. Your first day of school. Every milestone you reach is forever imprinted on my heart. Each birthday you celebrate is a joy to my heart. You are a wonderful blessing….Happy 9th Birthday our darling daughter, Melissa. We are incredibly blessed to have her in our lives, and we hope today is as special as you are.
This is my daughter’s 9th Birthday Cake I made for her Birthday celebration today attended by four (4) of her closest friends. It’s a BOWLING THEME PARTY.
The Bride wanted a Bride and Groom Topper of her and her hubby. The design on the cake was inspired from her Black Hills Gold Jewelry by Coleman wedding band. Sterling silver with pink and jade leaves. I tried to replicate her wedding gown and groom's Grey suit.
This is a cake I made this weekend for a rustic themed wedding. It took forever to carve and decorate the details on this cake.
The client (Groom's Dad) wanted a cake of the couple's truck and all the hunting gadgets.
