Requested by my daughter's Grade 2 teacher 2 dozen Flamingo Themed Cupcakes
for her daughter's 2nd Birthday.
She gave me some inspirations however I had to put my own twist in the design.
As they say time flies so fast.
My little one turned 12 today - my soon to be "teenager". Yikes!
This year, my daughter requested for a simple cake.
She invited only three of her closest friends --
With Dinner at Montana's Restaurant, Skating, Movie Night and Sleepover.
I prepared a dessert table and we had a quiet moment at home after all the activities.
We sang Happy Birthday, she made a wish and blew the candles on her cake.
It was a fun night...
HAPPY 12th BIRTHDAY OUR LITTLE ONE!
Reminiscing the amazing part one of this collaboration back in 2015.
32 amazing cake artists from across the globe
have come together once again to celebrate the beautiful and sophisticated designs of Indian fashion.
Each artist created a cake inspired by a haute couture Indian outfit that is typically worn for elegant occasions.
One can see how these outfits can easily translate into a gorgeous cake design
with their rich colors and intricate decorations.
We are honored and grateful to have this collaboration published in the Sugar Magazine of India.
You can also visit Elegant Indian Fashion Cake Collaboration page
to see all the other amazing cakes and artists involved.
Thank you to the amazing Candace Chand for
spearheading this collaboration.

I haven't been making cakes lately, I think I lost my 'cake mojo'.
The thought of how much time it takes to make a cake from baking to decorating kind of stresses me out.
Most especially when making it is a wedding cake, it is a bit overwhelming.
I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist as well.
So when my co-worker asked me to make a 4 tiered cake for her daughter's wedding,
I was a little hesitant to take the challenge.
Fast forward, here's the wedding cake I made for her daughter's wedding.
I love how my roses came out which I think is a big improvement from before.
The red ruffles took me almost a day to cover the second tier.
I'm not quite happy with my stenciling job as I'm a little bit rusty but I think it turned out great overall.
I'd like to thank my friend Susan for driving and helping me assemble the cake at the venue.
The best assistant ever..I owe you one Susan.
The drive was 1-1/2 hours one way.
This is a Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Filling and Chocolate Cake with chocolate butter cream.
All cakes were frosted with Belgian dark chocolate ganache and covered with fondant.
I used gum paste to make the roses.
CONGRATULATIONS AMANDA AND SCOTT!
