Two weeks ago, I got a request from my Dexie (she lives in Toronto now),
to make a cake for her mom' s birthday.
She wants something simple and elegant.
I really wanted to make a two tiered cake so I added the second tier as my gift to the celebrant.
In terms of effort, I will say that this design is simple.
It is a two tiered chocoate cake, filled with chocolate cream cheese frosing with fresh strawberry fruit and coated with Italian Meringue buttercream and Dark Chocolate ganache.
I used cutters to make the diamond shape and a mold to make the buttons.
I love making the ribbons especially the two color-tone one.
The pearls were hand rolled. I airbrushed the whole cake with pearl sheen color.
