DIY Wedding Magazine - Winter Issue 2015 iSSUE 22
So excited to share my Japanese Inspired Wedding Cake design for
DIY Wedding Magazine's Around the World Wedding Cakes.
What inspired me on the Japanese design style is its innately simple, minimalist,
and one that is closest to nature and its many hues.
I included the Wagasa (Japanese Umbrella), Cherry blossoms, Bamboo and the stones.
The color choices of black, white, red and green are perfect.
Black is a powerful and foreboding color in Japanese culture, represents formality and elegance.
White represents purity and cleanliness in traditional Japanese society, and is seen as a blessed color.
Red also represents love and intimacy and on the Japanese Flag.
Bamboo is a very strong plant.
Because of its sturdy root structure, it is symbol of prosperity in Japan and also symbolizes purity and innocence.
The Japanese natural stones are major components of Zen Garden, represents calmness and meditation.
I'm so honored to be a part of this beautiful collection of wedding cake designs from around the world
together with 12 of the most amazing cake artists in the world.
